Have just read Minaret by Leila Aboulela. It's about how a Sudanese lady deals with loss of her family and status, and her disintegrating life and sense of self. Also how she yearns for spiritual pleasure, and how she goes through spiritual awakening while experiencing trials of life. I find solace reading some parts of the story even though making us realize how rapidly the ground beneath one's feet can slip away is disconcerting.

Well, I've tried reading one of his love novel, Sam's Letters to Jennifer. It's a very sweet romance book. And it's really moving in the later part of the story… A very fast read. And that comment is coming from a not-so-fast reader!
I think I'll have to go with his Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas, and maybe The Jester next! Thanks for recommending him, hun. I absolutely appreciate his short chapters because I usually need to take a break every few pages… That's the problem of having a short attention span when reading! 
boo, if I remembered correctly, you were reading The God of Small Things? Khushi loved it, how about you? How did you find it? I've heard a lot about it, and am deciding on whether to read that book.
