Good effort at translating the song. I think “bandagi aa gayee” is more like “I have learnt how to pray”. That is my opinion of course.

It is a lovely song and while I am not a big Shailendra Singh fan, he has certainly sung this song very well. I like the lyrics also and Rishi Kapoor looked so cute in this movie. Of course when this movie was made he was just a kid since it was his first movie as an adult. I saw it a few years back and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Yes , now that you mention , i guess your interpretation could be more precise.Its so difficult to come up with the precise english equivalents at times because often lines need to be interpreted according to the song or situation…

Im not too fond of shailendra singh or even the movie for that matter…but i love the lyrics of this song….

Actually this song is not too bad. There are others which sound lovely in Hindi but the translations are terrible since the phrases used don’t mean any thing similar in English. It is like writing merely words.
