My dog has moved on. Just as well. He would have suffered had he lived on. He was buried under his favorite acacia tree. He loved that tree. For as long as he was alive and with me, I went home to 'someone' who was excited to see me and it was such a blessing, because I've practically lived by myself since I was sixteen. Now that he is gone, going home at the end of the day is such a chore. Strange that a four-legged vagrant had more affection for me than people for whom I spilled blood and guts. Just before he was put to sleep, I asked the Vet if I could have some time with him. I wanted to explain to him that it was best for him. I could not speak. I just sat there with my head on my chest. He knew. Well, I think he knew because I did not see fear in his eyes. I think I saw compassion.

This nameless dog (Alie wanted me to call him Desi), that answered to anything- Comet, Dingbat, Nincampoop, Captain, Chief, Meat-loaf, Watson, Santa, and erm names of colleagues that pissed me off during the day or math teachers that harrassed me in the past- taught me so much about life, and I am grateful.

I am grateful to God for making dogs who are much better at being dogs than humans are at being human.

Kavita ji, I don't know if asking her if she feels the power right now is such a good idea…earlier (in another post) she mentioned twitching, and I saw her discussing hammers and roti-rollers…Lol!

Erm Ninja? Was there any twitching involved with the above post? Lol. But, well said. Too many people pleasers and approval addicts that we no longer know who people really are sometimes. So, unique (weird and psycho) huh? Lmao!

    'I'm always interesting.'

I am sure that is true, but Rani ji, I am not as interested in you being interesting as I am interested in the interesting things your mother serves at home. See, that's what I am really interested in. So, I refuse to stink way.

Having said that, I now must hide in pain of death for I sure know Tayba ji and Ninja ji will be after my head. Au revoir.

Woke up with a smile! Had a great pot of coffee, and a wonderful breakfast with a beautiful woman who was in the neighborhood to visit her grandchildren. She had me spellbound with stories of her past, her late husband, her three daughters, her seven grandchildren, her cats (Yuck), her garden…easily one of the most charming women I have ever met.

She and her late husband lost most of their savings in a scam and the rest they spent for his hospitalization for a lingering illness, after which he died. While she was spending most of her time at the hospital taking care of her husband, someone broke into their home and stole all her jewellery and some money. Her first daughter recently separated from her husband and depends on her while she looking for a job. Her second daughter recently found a lump in her bosom and they don't know if its benign or malignant, yet. One of her grandchildren is a special child. Good grief! For someone with so many concerns, this woman is a gem! She never complained! I sat across the table feeling small, thinking to myself, 'Oh God! I am such a poor example of a human being.'

In three hours she changed several things about my life. After she paid for my breakfast, I asked her if I could take her out for a Piano Recital, dinner and coffee. She said 'Yes.' Yay! More life lessons coming up. Thank God. I could certainly use them.

    It's a great day!

Written in the 1950's by Ewan MacColl for his folksinger-wife Peggy Seeger, this remains, to date, one of the most touching romantic songs ever written. There are many versions -slow and fast- but my favorite is Roberta Flack's rendition which first hit the charts a few years after it was initially released (1969) because Clint Eastwood used it for a lovemaking scene in 'Play Misty for Me' (1971).

The first time ever I saw your face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
And the moon and stars were the gifts you gave
To the dark and the empty skies, my love,
To the dark and the empty skies.

The first time ever I kissed your mouth
And felt your heart beat close to mine
Like the trembling heart of a captive bird
That was there at my command, my love
That was there at my command.

And the first time ever I lay with you
I felt your heart so close to mine
And I knew our joy would fill the earth
And last till the end of time my love
It would last till the end of time my love

The first time ever I saw your face, your face
    Your face, your face

    You say you want
Diamonds on a ring of gold
    You say you want
    Your story to remain untold

But all the promises we make
From the cradle to the grave
When all I want is you

    You say you'll give me
A highway with no one on it
Treasure just to look upon it
All the riches in the night

    You say you'll give me
Eyes in a moon of blindness
A river in a time of dryness
    A harbour in the tempest
But all the promises we make
From the cradle to the grave
When all I want is you

    You say you want
Your love to work out right
To last with me through the night

    You say you want
Diamonds on a ring of gold
    Your story to remain untold
Your love not to grow cold

    All the promises we break
From the cradle to the grave
When all I want is you

    You…all I want is…
    You…all I want is…
    You…all I want is…
    You…
