Why did the header say aankhon hi aankhon mein from EMI, which is the one sang by Mohit, can you translate that one plzzzzzzzzzzzz

I absolutely love that song! The poetry is beautiful. I translated it for my friend a while ago, and I was very satisfied with the
translation, but I don't remember how I did it then, so I will try my best once again and you can take your own interpretation
on it because these lyrics are really confusing. The grammar is such that there are many possible meanings for the lyrics,
and I guess you have to decide which meaning fits best?

    Baithe Rahe Khayalon Mein Yu
    Sitting in thought like this
    Uljhe Rahein Sawaalon Mein Yuun
Remaining tangled in questions like this
Umm Kitni Baatein Hai Jo Kehna Paaye Unako
There are so many things (literally: baatein=talks) that I couldn't say to her/him
Hum Toh Na The Iss Tarah...
    We were never this way
Aankhon Hi Aankhon Mein Yuun Khoye Rahein
May we remain lost in each other's eyes like this

{I think there was a time when I understood what this stanza meant, but I can't seem to remember that
opinion anymore. I'm not sure if he's saying he
wishes to sit, lost in thoughts and tangled in questions, or
if he's saying there was a time when he used to do that with the person he's singing this song for, or if he's
saying that is what he is doing right now, reminiscing on times gone by. Also, when he says that there are
so many things he wasn't able to say to her, I'm not sure if he's saying that they were never this way,
"this way" being that they never had a problem expression their feelings to each other, or if he's saying that
there are so many things he can't say to her, period. And then he continues on with saying that they have
reached a certain point in their relationship that makes them act in a way towards each other that is
completely different than the way they used to act with each other. The last line of this stanza, in my opinion,
is a prayer. I think that after so much has happened between the two, something has brought them back
together, and they are now staring into each other's eyes. I think that in this moment, the singer/lyricist/
actor/whatever, is remembering what happened between the two, and he is praying, hoping, that the
    moment can last forever.}

Bas Tumko Dekhe, Dekhate Hi Rahe
May I only look at you (I can only see you), and continue looking
Ruk Jaye Lamhein Sabhi Jaate Huye
May all the moments going by stand still
Kya Tumse Kehde, Aur Kya Na Kahe
What I should say to you, and what I shouldn't say
Tum Hi Samajh Lo Sabhi Ai Kaash Ke
I wish that you could understand it all
Bas Yeh Tamanna Hai Dil Jo Apna Hai, Usko Mil Jao Tum
I only have this wish: May this heart of mine gain/find you
Abb Na Khayalon Mein, Na Sawalon Mein, Baahon Mein Aao Tum..
Now, not in my thoughts, not in my questions, come into my arms.

{The first two lines of this stanza can be interpreted as a prayer. In this moment that he has locked eyes
with her, he may be praying for the moment to never end - so that he may continue to look at her, and
only her. And he may be saying that he wishes for the moments that are passing him by, to stand still
so that he may have the time to cherish this moment.

    Correction:

(dekhke voh mujhe tera palkein jhukaa dena )2
The way you would lower your lashes when you looked at me,
yaad bahut aa'e tera muskaraa dena
I miss how you would smile.

    {This particular line is a memory the character had of the woman he loves. He's speaking about how much he misses the way she would lower her eyelashes after glancing at him, and how she would smile.}

    I love this song. 🙂

    Pyar ki baatein
    The talks of love
    Dil ko hasaake
    After making the heart laugh,
    dil ko rulathey
    They make the heart cry
    Ahnsoon se bhare ankhein
    These eyes filled with tears

    Milthay Milthay kabhi na socha
During all those times we met, I never thought
kabhi judhabhi hongay hum milthay milthay
That we will ever be separated (after) meeting (all those times)
    Chalthay Chalthay kabhi na socha
During all those times we walked togeht, I never thought
kabhi khafabhi hongay hum chalthay challthay
That we will get upset from each other, (after) walking (together, all those times)
Raahon mein mushkil jo aa gayi
(Now) that hardship has come onto (our) paths
Raahon mein mushkil jo aa gayi
    dil ko kaun bathaayen
    Who will tell the heart?
Abh tak dil mein ghoonje rahi hai wohi pyar ki yaadein
Even till now, those (same) memories of love still resonate in my heart

    Pyar ki baatein

    Pyar ki baatein

    Hasthay hasthay kabhi na socha
While laughing (all those times), I never thought
kabhi yeh ankhein royange hasthay hasthay
That these eyes will ever cry, (after all those times of) laughing (along the way)
    Rukthay rukthay kabhi na socha
When I stopped (all those times), I never thought
kabhi yeh saasein khoyenge rukthay rukthay
That these breaths will ever get lost, (after all those times of) laughing (along the way)

    Tooti yeh saasonkay dooriyaan
The broken flow of these breaths,
    Tooti yeh saasonkay dooriyaan
    kabthak koi chupayey
For how long will someone hide (the broken flow of breath)
Abthak humko loot rahi hay wohi pyar ki raathein
Even till now, those (same) nights of love are still looting me.

Jaagi jaagi soyi na main saari raat, tere liye
Awake awake (I was awake all night), I didn't sleep all night, for you
Bheegi bheegi palkein meri udaas, tere liye
My wet eyelashes are upset, for you
Haan jaagi jaagi soyi na main saari raat, tere liye
Yes, awake awake (I was awake all night), I didn't sleep all night, for you
Bheegi bheegi palkein meri udaas, tere liye
My wet eyelashes are upset, for you
    Akhiyan bichayi main, tere liye
I have lain my eyes out, for you (in search of you, waiting for you to come)
    Duniya bhulayi maine, tere liye
I have forgotten the world, for you

Tere liye jhoomu deewana ban ke tere liye
For you, I become crazy and spin around (basically, just act like a madman), for you
Vaada hai mera main hoon tere liye
This is my promise (to you), I am for you
Ho na kabhi tu judaa ..
Don't ever get separate (don't leave me)
Tere liye jhoomu deewana ban ke tere liye
Vaada hai mera main hoon tere liye
    Hona kabhi tu judaa ..

Hoo bheegi bheegi raat mein le kar ke tujhko saath mein
In the drenched nights, I take you along with me
Madhosh hue jaaye hum, aa faasle kar ne de kum
we go on becoming intoxicated (not drunk on alcohol, high on love ;D), come, let me decrease the distances (between us)
Zara paas tu aa mere, dheere se choo ja mujhe
Come a little close to me, touch me slowly
Kho jaaun tere pyaar mein, baahon mein bhar le mujhe
So I can get lost in your love, take me in your arms
Ooo tere liye jhoomu deewana ban ke tere liye
Vaada hai mera main hoon tere liye
    Hona kabhi tu judaa ..
Tere liye jhoomu deewana ban ke tere liye
Vaada hai mera main hoon tere liye
    Hona kabhi tu judaa ..

Hoo bhikri teri khushbuyein meri zindagi ki talaash mein
Your fragrance is strewn around in the search for my life
Doobe lamhe mere har pal tere ehsaas mein
My moments are drowned in your realizations/feelings every moment
Mere khwab kehne lagey, palkon mein rakhle inhe
My dreams start to say, “keep them (dunnoe who/what he's referring to) in your eyelashes”
Thoda chain mil jaaye ga, tu ishaara kar de inhe
I'll found a little peace, give them a sign
Ooo tere liye jhoomu deewana ban ke tere liye
Vaada hai mera main hoon tere liye
    Hona kabhi tu judaa ..
Tere liye aaa jhoomu deewana ban ke tere liye ooo
Vaada hai mera main hoon tere liye
    Hona kabhi tu judaa ..

Jaagi jaagi soyi na main saari raat, tere liye
Bheegi bheegi palkein meri udaas, tere liye
    Akhiyan bichayi main, tere liye
    Duniya bhulayi maine, tere liye

Kaliyon ka chaman tab banta hai

A garden of flower buds is made then

    thoda resham lagta hai
It takes a little bit of silk

    thoda sheesha lagta hai
It takes a little bit of glass

    heere moti jarte hai
Diamonds and pearls are rooted in

    thoda sona lagta hai
It takes a little bit of gold

    {^ What it's basically saying is that in order to grow a garden of flower buds, you need a little bit of silk, glass, gold, and you need to fit in diamonds and pearls. I'm guessing it's trying to describe the different types of flowers with the silk and gold and etc. Or maybe it's describing the different types of women? Because women are often referred to as a “kali” which means a flower bud. So once you have all of that done, that is when a garden of flower buds is made.}

    Payal koi jab banti hai
    An anklet is then made

    thoda peetal hota hai
(When) there is a little bit of brass (I didn't know what peetal meant, so I googled it and found it means brass)

    thode gungru hote hai
(when) there are a little bit of gunghroo

    phir ek gori hoti hai
Then there is a fair woman

    pau mein dori hoti hai
and there is a string in the (her) feet

    {^ So the above verse is the same as the first verse, only now it's telling you how to make an anklet. First you need some brass and ghungroo. The payal (anklet) is the string/chain worn around the ankle, the ghunghroo are the little bells that make the jingling noise when shaken. Here is a link to wikipedia on ghunghroo: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghungroo Also, if you google the word ghungroo, you'll find pictures of it. So after you have the brass and the ghunghroo, you'll need someone to wear it once it's made. And in this song, they use a “fair” woman. The word “fair” is used to describe beauty (annoying, I know). So then, this beautiful woman will have a “string” in her feet. The word “string” is used here to imply the use of puppets. You know, the strings used to move the puppets around? I'm not sure why, but that's what I think it's saying.That's when an anklet is made.}

saawan ki jaddi jab lagti hai
When the wand (implying the use of magic) of the monsoon strikes

    thode badal hote hai
    There are a few clouds

    jaise kajal hota hai
    The way kohl (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kohl_(cosmetics)) is

    thodi boonde hote hai
There are a few drops (of rain)

    mann yeh pagal hota hai
    This heart/soul goes crazy

    {^ The above verse is again, the same as the first two. This time it is describing what happens during the monsoon season. There are a few clouds that look like kohl, meaning the clouds are dark. Then there are raindrops, and the heart goes crazy. I'm guessing this whole monsoon season is referring to what happens when someone is in love. Because the monsoon season is supposed to be really romantic (in Bollywood Land, at least). So maybe that's why the heart is going crazy… Anyway, that's what happens during the monsoon.}

yovan ki ruth jab aati hai
When the season of youth comes

    thode bavre hote hai
    There are a few bees

    thodi masti hoti hai
    There is a bi

You're welcome, hunn. There's always someone who has a sentimental attachment to a certain song and need the translation for personal reasons, and I'm so very glad that for some reason I really wanted to find the song and translate it for you. I even downloaded a bunch of plug ins on my laptop to play the song from other websites. It's absolutely amazing the way things work sometimes. SubhanAllah. Smile I'm glad that I was of some good use to you. Smile If you need anything else, let me know, I'll do what I can. Smile

I googled the song, couldn't find “sharoukhe,” but I did find “jharonkha” on this website: https://desitouch.com/song/Jharonkha/1328

So I typed out the lyrics from listening to the song on that website, hope it's the right one.

Aankhon ke jharonke se, chup ke,
From the balcony of your eyes, you quietly, (A jharokha is a type of overhanging balcony used in Indian architecture – taken from google)
ijaazat bina liye, dil churaaya dhoke se, chup ke
without asking for permission, you quietly stole my heart by deceit
    O saathi mere [2]
    O my companion…

Mere sapno mein, tere khwaab hai aate
Your dreams come in my dreams (I dream of you)
Meri raaton ko beqaraari dey jaate
They (your dreams) give my nights restlessness
Ab jiya lage na tere bin ek lamha
Now I don't like living without you for even a moment

Aankhon ke jharonke se, chup ke,
ijaazat bina liye, dil churaya dhoke se, chup ke
    O saathi mere [2]

Meri saanson mein, teri sandhli saansein
Your sandhli (I think sandhli means velvety) breaths fill my breaths
mujhe bhoole na, teri madhbhari (? Sorry, I didn't understand what he said after this)
I cannot forget your madhbhari (I think madhbhari means intoxicating)…
zindagi beete na, tere bin ab tanha
My life doesn't go by without you, all alone

Aankhon ke jharonke se, chup ke,
ijaazat bina liye, dil churaya dhoke se, chup ke
    O saathi mere [2]

jal jal ke dhuan ho rahe ham
We are becoming smoke (after) burning (for so long)
nas nas mein nasha bheega hain maann
There is intoxication in all my veins, my soul/heart is drenched
    jismo ki dabi aarzoo hain
It is the suppressed wish of the bodies
mar jaaye teri baahon mein ham
that I die in your arms
ho ho ho baaho mein ham
    in your arms...

(aaj raat ko hosh ki hain jaroorat kaha
What is the need for consciousness this night?
aaj sharam se koi kehde na paaye yaha
Someone might not be able to speak because of embarrassment. (I think?)
chune se tere kho jaaye mann
When you touch me, my heart/soul gets lost
    hota hain junoon deewanapan nasha
I become obsessed, crazy, and intoxicated (That's what the words mean, but i'm not sure if that's exactly what he's trying to say)
jal jal ke dhuan ho rahe ham
nas nas mein nasha bheega hain maann
    jismo ki dabi aarzoo hain
mar jaaye teri baahon mein ham

(yeh is kadar mil gaye hain hamare badan
Our bodies have united in such a way
yeh bhi nahi hain pata kaun tum kaun ham)
that we don't even know who you are and who I am (we don't even know where you end and I begin)
ehsaas paseene se hain nam sholo se chalakti hain shabnam jara
My feelings are moist from sweat, a little dew is dropping from the embers
(jal jal ke dhuan ho rahe ham
nas nas mein nasha bheega hain maann
    jismo ki dabi aarzoo hain
mar jaaye teri baahon mein ham) - 2

Diye Jalte Hain Phool Khilte Hain
    Candles/lamps burn, flowers bloom
Badi Mushkil Se Magar Duniya Mein Dost Milte Hain
But friends are found in this world with great difficulty
    Diye Jalte Hain
    Candles/lamps burn…

Jab Jis Waqt Kisika Yaar Judaa Hota Hai
When, at some time, someone's friend is separated from them
Kuch Na Poochho Yaaron Dil Ka Haal Bura Hota Hai
Friends, don't ask anything, the condition of the heart is bad
Dil Pe Yaadon Ke Jaise Teer Chalte Hain
Arrows of memories go through the heart
    Diye Jalte Hain
    Candles/lamps burn…

Iss Rang Roop Pe Dekho Hargiz Naaz Na Karna
Look, don't ever have pride over this color and beauty
Jaan Bhi Maange Yaar To De Dena
If your friend asks for your life, then give it
    Naaraaz Na Karna
    Don't make him/her/them sad
Rang Ud Jaate Hain Roop Dhalte Hain
Color fades away, and beauty sets (meaning you'll get old and you won't always be as beautiful as you once were)
    Diye Jalte Hain
    Candles/lamps burn…

Daulat Aur Jawaani Ek Din Kho Jaati Hain
Wealth and youth becomes lost one day
Sach Kehta Hoon Yaaron Dil Ka Haal Bura Hota Hai
Friends, I'm telling you the truth, the condition of the heart becomes bad
Umr Bhar Dost Lekin Saath Chalte Hain
But friends walk with you for your whole life (or maybe it's “But lifetime friends walk with you”)
    Diye Jalte Hain
    Candles/lamps burn...

Main aur meri tanhaai aksar yeh baatein karte hain
My loneliness and I often have these conversations

Tum hoti to kaisa hota, tum yeh kehti, tum voh kehti
How would it have been if you were here? You would say this, you would say that.

Tum hoti to kaisa hota, tum yeh kehti, tum voh kehti

Tum is baat pe hairaan hoti, tum us baat pe kitni hansti
This would surprise you, that would make you laugh so much

Tum hoti to aisa hota, tum hoti to vaisa hota
If you were here, then this would happen, if you were here, then that would happen.

Main aur meri tanhaai aksar yeh baatein karte hain

Yeh raat hai, yeh tumhaari zulfein khuli hui hai
Is this the night, or is your hair open? (comparing the darkness of her hair to the night)

Hai chaandni ya tumhaari nazrein se meri raatein dhuli hui hai
Is this the moonlight, or are my nights hazy from your eyes? (comparing the brightness of her eyes to the moonlight)

Yeh chaand hai ya tumhaara kangan
Is this the moon or is it your bangle?

    Sitaarein hai ya tumhaara aanchal
Are those the stars or is it your scarf?

Hawa ka jhonka hai ya tumhaare badan ki khushboo
Is that a gust of wind, or is it the fragrance of your body?

Yeh pattiyon ki hai sarsaraahat ke tumne chupke se kuch kaha hai
Is it the sarsaraahat of the pattiyon, or did you say something quietly? (I think pattiyon is tracks, train tracks… :/)

Yeh sochta hoon main kab se gumsum
I've been thinking quietly for so long

Ke jab ki mujhko bhi yeh khabar hai
    When even I know

Ke tum nahin ho, kahin nahin ho
that you are not here, you are not anywhere

Magar yeh dil hai ke keh raha hai
But it's this heart that is saying

Ke tum yahin ho, yahin kahin ho
that you are here, you are here somewhere

    Such Keh Raha Hain Deewana
The crazy heart speaks the truth:
Dil Dil Na Kisi Se Lagana
Don't fall in love with someone
    Such Keh Raha Hain Deewana
Dil Dil Na Kisi Se Lagana
Jhoothe Hain Yaar Ke Vaade Saare
All of the beloved's promises are lies
    Jhoothi Hain Pyaar Ki Kasme
The oaths of love are lies
    Maine Har Lamha Jise Chaaha
the one I loved every moment
Jise Pooja Usi Ne Yaaron Mera Dil Toda
the one I worshipped, he/she broke my heart, friends
    Toda Tanha Tanha Chhoda
    (and) left me (all) alone
    Such Keh Raha Hain Deewana
Dil Dil Na Kisi Se Lagana
Jhoothe Hain Yaar Ke Vaade Saare
    Jhoothi Hain Pyaar Ki Kasme
    Maine Har Lamha Jise Chaaha
Jise Pooja Usi Ne Yaaron Mera Dil Toda
    Toda Tanha Tanha Chhoda

    Mausam Mausam Tha Suhana Bada
    Every weather was very beautiful
    Mausam Mausam Maine Dekha Use
I saw her/him in ever weather
Hua Main Paagal Bas Palbhar Mein
I became crazy in but a moment
    Mausam Mausam Tha Suhana Bada
    Mausam Mausam Maine Dekha Use
Hua Main Paagal Bas Palbhar Mein
Aake Basi Hain Woh Mere Mann Mein
    She lives in my heart/soul
Uski Kami Hain Ab Jeevan Mein
There is now a lack of her presence in my life
Woh Door Hain Meri Nazron Se
She is far away from my gaze
    Kyon Use Main Chaahon
    Why must/should I love her?
    Such Keh Raha Hain Deewana
Dil Dil Na Kisi Se Lagana
Jhoothe Hain Yaar Ke Vaade Saare
    Jhoothi Hain Pyaar Ki Kasme
    Maine Har Lamha Jise Chaaha
Jise Pooja Usi Ne Yaaron Mera Dil Toda
    Toda Tanha Tanha Chhoda

    Sundar Sundar Woh Haseena Badi
That beautiful one was very beautiful
Sundar Sundar Main To Khone Laga
So beautiful that I began to get lost
Uske Nashe Mein Bin Piye Behka
I swayed in her intoxication without drinking (without actually being drunk)
    Sundar Sundar Woh Haseena Badi
Sundar Sundar Main To Khone Laga
Uske Nashe Mein Bin Piye Behka
Ek Din Use Bhoola Doonga Main
One day I will forget her
    Uske Nishaan Mita Doonga Main
I will erase all signs/traces of her
Chaahonga Na Main Us Patthar Ko
    I won't love that stone (stone-hearted one)
    Jaa Use Bata De
    Go (and) tell her (this)
    Maine Har Lamha Jise Chaaha
Jise Pooja Usi Ne Yaaron Mera Dil Toda
    Toda Tanha Tanha Chhoda

I think it's from an album, not a movie. If I had more time, I would have googled the lyrics and translated it, but too many people are asking for translations without providing the lyrics. It's faster to translate songs if you provide the lyrics. Smile

Parbat Ke Piichhe, Chambe Daa Gaau
Behind the mountains is the village of Chamba

Gaau Mein Do Premii Rahate Hain
Two lovers live in the village
Ham To Nhiin Vo Diivaanaa Jinako
We are not those crazy people, that
    Diivaanaa Log Kahate Hain
    people call crazy.

Milenge Yaa Bichha Denge, Haay Raam Kyaa Hogaa
Will they meet or will they be separated? Oh Raam, what will happen?
    Na Jaane In Donon
    Kaa Anjaam Kyaa Hogaa
Who knows what the end (fate) of these two will be
Muft Mein Ho Jaayenge Badanaam Kyaa Hogaa
They will become disgraced for free, what will happen?
Ghar Se Nikal Ke, Raste Pe
    Chal Ke
When they go out of the house and walk upon the streets
    Taane Hazaar Sahate Hain
    they endure thousands of taunts
Gaanv Mein Do Premii Rahate Hain …
Two lovers live in the village…

meri saanson ko jo mahkaa rahi hai
(The thing) that is making my breaths fragrantly
meri saanson ko jo mahkaa rahi hai
    ye pahle pyaar ki khushbu
is the fragrance of first love
teri saanson se shaayad aa rahi hai
Maybe it is coming from your breaths
meri saanson ko jo mahkaa rahi hai
(the thing) that is making my breaths fragrantly

shuru ye silsilaa to usi din se huaa thaa
This chain/cycle began that very day
shuru ye silsilaa to usi din se huaa thaa
achaanak toone jis din mujhe yoonhi chhuaa thaa
The day when you had suddenly just touched
achaanak toone jis din mujhe yoonhi chhuaa thaa
lahar jaagi jo us pal, tan-badan mein
The wave that rose in my body that moment
wo man ko aaj bhi bahkaa rahi hai
is making my heart/soul go astray even today
    pahle pyaar ki khushbu
teri saanson se shaayad aa rahi hai
meri saanson ko jo mahkaa rahi hai

bahut tarsaa hai ye dil, tere sapne sajaake
This heart has yearned a lot while it weaved dreams of you
bahut tarsaa hai ye dil, tere sapne sajaake
ye dil ki baat sun le, meri baahon mein aake
Come into my arms and listen to the words of this heart
    jagaakar anokhi pyaas man mein
After awakening a unique thirst in my heart/soul
yahi thi aag jo dahkaa rahi hai
it was this fire that was burning
    ye pahle pyaar ki khushbu
teri saanson se shaayad aa rahi hai
meri saanson ko jo mahkaa rahi hai

ye aankhen bolti hain, jo ham na bol paaye
These eyes speak that which I/we were not able to say
ye aankhen bolti hain, jo ham na bol paaye
dabi wo pyaas man ki, nazar mein jhilmilaaye
That suppressed thirst of the heart/soul shimmers in the eys
dabi wo pyaas man ki, nazar mein jhilmilaaye
honthon pe teri halki si hansi hai
There is a slight smile on your lips
meri dhadkan bahakti jaa rahi hai
    My heartbeat is going astray
    pahle pyaar ki khushbu
teri saanson se shaayad aa rahi hai
meri saanson ko jo mahkaa rahi hai

There are some words in the song I do not understand, so I will translate what I do understand and leave the words I don't understand as a transliteration. Hopefully someone can fill in the missing words for you. Smile

Rim-jhim ke geet saavan gaaye, haay
The monsoon sings songs of rhim-jhim
    Bheegi-bheegi raaton mein
    In the drenched nights
Honthon pe baat dil ki aae, haay
The words of the heart comes to the lips
    Bheegi-bheegi raaton mein
    In the drenched nights

    Tera mera puchhe naata
It (the clouds?) asks for our relation (wants to know what their relationship is)
Badi vo ye ghata ghanghor hai
    This cloud is very ghanghor
Chup hoon aise mein kah do kaise
I'm quiet like this, how do I say
Mera saajan nahin tu koi aur hai
that you're not my beloved, you are someone else
Ke tera naam, honthon pe mere, tere
that your name is on my lips, (and) your
    Sapane meri aankhon mein
your dreams are in my eyes

Rim-jhim ke geet saavan gaaye, haay
    Bheegi-bheegi raaton mein

    Mera dil bhi hai deewaana
    My heart is also crazy
Tere naina bhi hain naadaan se
Your eyes are also a bit innocent
Kuchh na socha, kuchh na dekha
I didn't think, nor did I see anything
Kuchh bhi puchha na is anjaan se
I didn't ask anything of this ignorant one
Chal pade saath ham kaise, aise
How did we walk together like this,
    Banake saathi, raahon mein
    becoming companions on the lanes

Rim-jhim ke geet saavan gaaye, haay
    Bheegi-bheegi raaton mein

    Badi lambi ji ki baatein
The words of the heart are long (I have many things to say to you)
Badi chhoti barakha ki raat ji
(But) this night of barakha is very short
Kahana kya hai, sunana kya hai
What is there to say? What is there to listen to?
Kahane sunane ki ab kya baat hai
What is there (left) to say and listen to?
Bin kahe, bin sune dil ne dil se Kar lin baatein, baaton mein
Without saying anything, without listening to anything, the heart talked to the other heart in words

Rim-jhim ke geet saavan gaaye, haay
    Bheegi-bheegi raaton mein
Honthon pe , baat dilaki aae, haay
    Bheegi bheegi raaton mein
