The translation is not bad but I think the key lines should be more personalized. After all this is being sung by the woman who is facing all kinds of hardships and yet she is continuing her struggle and encouraging others to do the same. Instead of talking about what one should do in the third person, it should be more about us. For example:

duniyaa mein ham aaye hain to jiinaa hii padegaa
If we have come into this world then we must live
jiivan hai agar zahar to piinaa hii padegaa )2
if life is poison, then we must drink the poison

(gir gir ke musibat mein sambhalate hi rahenge
we may stumble due to our problems but we will steady ourselves (regain our balance) and keep going
jal jaen magar aag pe chalate hi ragenge )2
Even if we get burnt we will keep walking on (through) the fire
(Gam jisane diye)2 hain vahi Gam dur karega )2
The one who(GOD) has given us sadness is the one who will remove the sadness.

(jaisa jo kare)2ga yahaan vaisa hi bharega)2
whatever you do here will give you the results accordingly (you reap what you sow)

aurat hai vahi aurat jise duniyaa ki sharm hai
A woman is one who is mindful of society and its boundaries

zinda hai jo izzat se vahi izzat se marega
The woman that lives with honour will die with honour.

I know I am being picky but I think that changing the words around does make a difference to the meaning of the song.

The following song was sung by Kishore Kumar:
    kyaa nazaare hmmmmm (what sights)
    kyaa sitaare hmmmmm (what stars)
kyaa nazaare kyaa sitaare (what sights, what stars)
sab ko hai intezaar sab hain beqaraar (everyone is waiting, everyone is restless)
tu kab sab dekhegi (when are you going to see it all)
har kali mein har gali mein (on every bud, in every alley)

tu sab jab dekhegi (when you see it all)
kyaa nazaare kyaa sitaare (what sights what stars)

baadal ambar pe yun hi aataa jaataa rahegaa (clouds will keep coming in the sky this way)
tere reshmi aaNchal ki tarah lahraataa rahegaa (the end of your silken sari will keep blowing in the wind this way)
qadmon ki dhool choomegi ye phool (these flowers will kiss the dust of your footsteps)

har kali mein har gali mein (on every bud, in every alley)

tu sab jab dekhegi (when you see it all)
kyaa nazaare kyaa sitaare (what sights what stars)

man mein tu aise samaayi jaise nadiyaa mein neer (you are immersed in my mind/heart in such a way just like water is immersed in the river)
mere nainon ke darpan mein lagi hai yun teri tasveer (in the mirror of my eyes there is this picure)
apnaa ye roop ye chhaaNv dhoop (your own beauty, this shade and sunshine)

Here is the title song sung by Lata Mangeshkar:

    ho ho
chal chalen ai dil karen chal kar kisiika intazaar (come, come oh my heart come let us wait for some one)
intazaar, jheel ke us paar (wait, on the other side of the lake)

shaayad koi pardesi mil jaaye soone des mein (perhaps I will find a foreigner in the lonely country)
mil jaaye bhagavaan mujhako aadami ke bhes men (I will find god in the form of a human)
kya ho jaaye kya hai aitabaar, jheel ke us paar (what will happen, what can be counted on, on the other side of the lake)
chal chalen ai dil karen chal kar kisiika intazaar (come, come oh my heart come let us wait for some one)
intazaar, jheel ke us paar (wait, on the other side of the lake)

jo is paar nahi koi kya jaane vo us paar ho (what is not on this side, who knows it may be on the other side)
parbat ke peechhe ek sundar sapanon ka sansaar ho (behind the mountain there may be a beautiful world of dreams)
aai ho bahaaron pe bahaar, jheel ke us paar (perhaps merriment may have come over the spring season, on the other side of the lake)
chal chalen ai dil karen chal kar kisiika intazaar (come, come oh my heart come let us wait for some one)
intazaar, jheel ke us paar (wait, on the other side of the lake)

Mere jaan sulge mera jism jale (My life smolders, my body burns)

    Madhuri:

Normally I don't bother reading over your translations but I actually find the poems Kavi Pradeep wrote to be really inspiring and that is the only reason I read through this one. Over all you seem to do a pretty good job of translating songs. However, in this case I think a couple of key corrections need to be made. Please don't take this the wrong way. His poems are always pretty soul searching and you really have to dig deep into the thought he is trying to portray. It is easy to miss his meaning if you miss a key word in the sentence. Please take a look and see if you agree with the following.

    (1) mukhada dekh le praani zara darapan mein ho

Look at the face in the mirror (meaning look at yourself). The word praani does not mean animal. Praan means life so praani would be any living thing. Here the poet means you should look at yourself in the mirror.

    (2) kabhi to pal bhar soch le praani, kya hai teri karam kahaani
(Sometime you should spend a few minutes thinking about your actions and the results. Kahaani literally means story but that is not his intent here )

    (3) pata laga le pade hain kitane daag tere daaman mein

Find out how many stains there are on your clothes. In other words take a look at what you have done and how they have resulted in creating a mess.

    (4) kud ko dhokha de mat bande, achchhe na hote kapat ke dhandhe – 2

Don't cheat yourself. The profession of conning others is not good.

    (5) sada na chalata kisi ka naatak duniya ke aangan mein

one can not play act forever in the courtyard of life

Again, my intent is not to criticize you but I am just trying to make the poets thoughts come across. Please continue to provide translations to the others. As I said earlier you seem to have been doing a good job with it. Hope you take this in the spirit that it was intended. Take care!

tere pyaar ko salaam tere pyaar ko salaam o sanam (I salute / respect your love)
o meri jaan tere naam o sanam (my life is for you oh my love)
main teri ho gai teri kasam (I promise, I have become yours)
o tere pyaar ko salaam …

paas a ham mein kuch faasala na rahe (Come close so there are no distances between us)
kuch tera na rahe kuch mera na rahe (nothing should be yours, nothing should be mine)
ek dooje mein kho jaayen ham (let us get lost in each other)
o tere pyaar ko salaam …

neend bhi ud gai chain bhi kho gaya (sleep has flown away, restfulness is lost also)
pyaar ka aisa mujhe nasha ho gaya (the intoxication of love has overtaken me in such a way)
dagamagaane lage mere kadam (my footsteps are beginning to falter)
o tere pyaar ko salaam …

It was my pleasure. It is a really meaningful song and while it took some effort it was worth it since you now appreciate the song more. Kavi Pradeep wrote during the time when we were still fighting for independence so he has many patriotic songs. I like many of those he wrote and pick those to sing in Yahoo rooms every year on Republic Day and Independence Day. I never expected this song to come up again. I have translated it but it was tough and time consuming. Each sentence may not be the literal word by word translation but it should be pretty close.

Aaj ke is insaan ko ye kyaa ho gayaa, – what has happened to this human of today

iskaa puraanaa pyaar kahaan par kho gayaa,
    – where has his old love gotten lost

Kaisi ye manhoos ghadi hai – what wretched time is this
bhaaiyon mei jang chidi hai, – there is a battle going on
    between brothers

Kahin par khoon, kahin par jwaalaa, – somewhere is blood, somewhere is blaze / flames
jaane kyaa hai hone waalaa, – who knows what is about to happen

Sab kaa maathaa aaj jhukaa hai,
    everyones head is bowed today
    aazaadi kaa juloos
    rukaa hai, – the Independence
    procession has stopped

Chaaron ore dagaa hee dagaa hai, – all
around is just treachery only treachery
har chhure par khoon lagaa hai, – on every dagger there is blood

Aaj dukhi hai jantaa saari, – today all public is sad
    rote hain laakhon nar
naari, – hundreds of thousands of men and women are crying

Rote hain aangan galiyaare, – the
    courtyards and alleys are crying
rote aaj mohalle saare, – today all neighborhoods are crying

Roti Salmaa, roti hai Seeta, – Salma is
crying, Seeta is crying (Muslim & Hindu names)
rote hain Quraan aur Geeta – Quraan
and Geeta are crying (Muslim & Hindu Religious books ) – regardless of what
religion they follow everyone is crying)

Aaj Himaalay chillaataa hai, – today the
    Himalayas shout
kahaan puraanaa wo naataa hai, – where is that old connection / relationship

Das diyaa saare desh ko zehreele naagon ne, the
whole country has been bitten by poisonous snakes
ghar ko lagaa dee aag ghar ke chiraagon ne – the homes were set on fire by the lamps of
    their own homes

Apnaa desh wo desh thhaa bhaai, – our
    country was that country, brother
    laakhon baar musibat
aayee, – hundreds of thousands of times
    difficulties came

Insaanon ne jaan ganwaayee – men sacrificed their lives
par bahanon ki laaj bachaayee, – but they saved the honour of their sisters

Lekin ab wo baat kahaan hai, – but no where is that any more
ab to kewal ghaat yahaan hai, now
all that is left are the wounds

Chal rahee hai ultee hawaayen, – the wind is blowing backwards

danger (all women are in danger)

Khatre mei hai laaj bahan kee, – the
    sisters honour is in danger
khatre mei hai chudiyaan dulhan kee, – the bangles of the bride are in danger
    (it
really means the husbands are in danger because when the husband dies
traditionally Hindu women shatter their bangles)

Dartee hai har paanw ki paayal, – the ankle bracelet is scared
    aaj kaheen ho naa
jaaye ghaayal, – in case it is wounded
    today

Aaj salaamat naa koi ghar hai, – today
no home is safe any more
sab ko lut jaane kaa dar hai, <

Yaad mein teri jaag jaag ke ham Raat bhar karvatein badalte hain
I stay awake and toss and turn all night while remembering you
Har ghadi dil mein teri ulfat ke Dheeme dheeme charaag jalte hain
All the time the lamp full of love for you burns slowly in my heart
    Lata:
Jabse tune nigaah pheri hai Din hai suna to raat andheri hai
Since you have turned your eyes away from me days are empty and nights are dark
Chaand bhi ab nazar nahin aata Ab sitaare bhi kam nikalte hain
I don’t see the moon any more, even the stars don’t come as much any more
Yaad mein teri jaag jaag ke ham Raat bhar karvatein badalte hain
I stay awake and toss and turn all night while remembering you
    Rafi:
Lut gayi woh bahaar ki mehfil
That party of happiness has been looted / robbed
Chhut gayi hamse pyaar ki manzil
I have had to let go of the destination of love
    Zindagi ki udaas raahon mein
In the sad paths of life
Teri yaadon ke saath chalte hain
    I walk with your memories
Yaad mein teri jaag jaag ke ham Raat bhar karvatein badalte hain
I stay awake and toss and turn all night while remembering you
    Lata:
    Tuhjko paakar hamein bahaar mili
Having found you I had found happiness
Tujhse chhutkar magar yeh baat khuli
After having parted from you it has become clear
Baagbaan hi chaman ke phoolon ko
The gardner himself takes the flowers of the garden
Apne pairon se khud masalte hain
And tramples them with his own feet
Yaad mein teri jaag jaag ke ham Raat bhar karvatein badalte hain
I stay awake and toss and turn all night while remembering you

    Rafi:
Kya kahein tujhse kyun huii doori
What can I tell you about why there is this distance
    Ham samajhte hain apni majboori
I understand my helplessness / difficulties / obligations
Tujhko maaloom kya ke tere liye
do you even know that for you
Dil ke gham aansuon mein dhalte hai</pre

    hmmmmmmm..
manzilon pe aake luTate hain dilon ke kaarvaaN – The caravan of love has been looted after arriving at the destination
kashtiyaaN saahil pe aksar, Doobati hain pyaar ki – the boats of love often sink after arriving at the shore

(manzilen apni jagah hain raaste apni jagah) – 2 – destinations are in their place, paths are in their own place
jab qadam hi saath na den, to musaafir kyaa kare – when footsteps will not accompany then what should the traveler do

(yuN to hai hamdard bhi aur hamsafar bhi hai meraa) – 2 – even though I have some one to share my pain and my path
baDhke koi haath na de, dil bhalaa phir kyaa kare – but when no one steps up to give a helping hand then what should the heart do
manzilen apni jagah hain raaste apni jagah

Doobne vaale ko tinke kaa sahaaraa hi bahut – for a drowning man even a straw is enough to help
dil bahal jaaye fakat, itnaa ishaaraa hi bahut – for the heart to be calmed, just a hint is enough
itne par bhi aasmaaN vaalaa giraa de bijliyaaN – after all this there is lightning coming from the sky
koi batlaa de zaraa ye Doobtaa phir kyaa kare – some one tell me what should the drowning man do
manzilen apni jagah hain raaste apni jagah

pyaar karnaa jurm hai to, jurm hamse ho gayaa – If love is a crime, then I have committed that crime
qaabil-e-maafii huaa karate nahin aise gunaah – these crimes are not worthy of being forgiven
sangdil hai ye jahaaN aur sangdil meraa sanam – this world is cruel hearted and my love is also cruel hearted
kyaa karen josh-e-junooN aur hauslaa phir kyaa kare – what should the zeal of passion and bravery do (perhaps it could be translated as what should I do with my zeal, my obsessive ambition and my bravery when the person I love is cruel towards me)
    manzilen apni…
