If you have the song on a cd, upload it and perhaps some one will listen to it and remember it.

This song has been requested several times already as you would have found out had you tried to search.

The lyrics and translation can be found at the following site:

    http://bollywhat.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=17222e45771e4de71db2d8a5c8cb6e3f&topic=6597.msg66021#msg66021

Next time look first and request only if you can’t find it.

Also, do not use subjects like “Hae can u help”. Put the lyrics as part of your subject.

Hum ghar mein kahin chhup jaayenge
I will hide some where in the house
    Sang tere nahin hum aayenge
I am not coming with you

I had actually translated this one last Sunday but that was the day we lost all the posts including my translations. What a wasted day. Unfortunately I had translated every thing directly in to the forum so there was no way I could salvage any thing at all.

har cheez ko pyar ke naam kerke kho diya maine
I bequeathed everything in the name of love and lost it
    Pyar ko pakar khodiya maine
I found love and then lost it
rona nahi chahta, rota hoon main
I don’t want to cry but I cry
chun ke khushi ke ansoo pita hoon main
I pick out happiness and suppress tears
    Aik Akela Larka bangaya hoon
I have become one lonely guy
    Sochta hoon kesey muskraon
I think about how I can smile
har raat isi soch main dooba hoon
Every night I drown in these thoughts
na jaaney kesi hai yeh saza
I don’t know what kind of punishment this is
woh thi bewafa, bewaja pyar ko pakar bhula diya us ne
She was faithless, without any reason she lost the love she had received/found
    nahin socha hoga kya.. mera
She never thought about what would happen to me
zindagi main andhera jagaa hai har jagah, aur sawera hai soya soya
In life darkness is awoken every where and the morning is sleeping
kesey aghey barhoon main? kehta hai mera dil..
how can I move forward says my heart

ankhoon se paani hai khatam, nami hai baki
tears are finished from my eyes, dampness is left
baarish bhi kaantein banke hain chubti
even the rain pricks me like thorns
laal pholoon se honey lagi hai ab nafrat
I have started to detest red flowers
aghey kya hoga bekhabar hoon main
I am unaware of what will happen in the future
intezaar hai asmaan se kisi farishtey ka
I await the arrival of an angel from the sky
jo bataye sach.. na tha mujhe pata
Who will tell me the truth, I did not know it

    Woh kaun thi?
    Who was she

khwabo se soyi nahi woh, aankhon se gayi nahi
sleep never took her out of my dreams, she never left my sight
kal bhi woh thi, aaj bhi woh hai
she was yesterday, she is still today
kya hai naam us ka? koi mujhe bataye
what is her name, some one tell me
Pholoon main rehti hai woh, hawaon se kehti hai who
she lives in flowers, she talks to the wind
na baat kerti hai, per muskrati hai who
she does not talk in words but she smiles
kis titli ka rang hai, kis ka pyar hai
the color of which butterfly, whose love is she
    koi mujhe bataye..
    some one tell me
har sheeshe main usi ka chehra
in every mirror is just her image
har nagme main usi ka gaana
in every tune is just her song
palke jhukti nahin, saansein chalti nahin
eye lashes don’t drop, breathing stops
din main hai baarish, raaton main dhanak
in day it is rain, at night it is blazing fire
kesa manzar hai yeh? koi mujhe bataye
what spectacle / sight is this, some one tell me
woh ayi thi jesey kahin asmaan se
she came as if from the sky
jaaney kya tha un ke aankhon main
don’t know what was in her eyes
    dil beh gaya kadmon main
my heart flowed over to her feet
kaun hai yeh pari? jis se hoon bekhabar
who is this angel, I am unaware / unknowing of her
    akhir koi to bataye..
    finally some one tell me

tumhey yaad kerta hoon har pal, har ghari
I remember you every moment, every time
tumhara khwabo main muskrana, saamney milna
Your smiling in dreams, meeting me face to face
dil ko bahlana, mujhe har baat batana..
amusing my heart, telling me every thing
woh aankhein ab mujhe nahi dekheingee
Those eyes will no longer see me
    yaqeen nahi hota
    I can’t believe it
    tum ab wapas nahi aaogi
    You will never return
    yaqeen nahi hota
    I can’t believe it
isey sapna samajh ke khushi kerleta hoon
    thinkin

Movie Name: Aap Aaye Bahaar Aayi
Lyric Name: Mujhe Teri Mohabbat Ka
Singer(s): Mohammad Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar

    –MALE–
Dilshaad tha ke phool khilenge bahaar mein
the heart was sure that flowers will bloom in spring
Maara gaya gareeb isi aitbaar mein
the poor guy got killed in this trust

    –FEMALE–
Mujhe teri mohabbat ka sahaara mil gaya hota – 2
I would have gotten the support of your love
Agar toofaan nahin aata, kinaara mil gaya hota
If the storm had not come, I would have found the shore

    –MALE–
Mujhe teri mohabbat ka sahaara mil gaya hota
I would have gotten the support of your love
Agar toofaan nahin aata, kinaara mil gaya hota
If the storm had not come, I would have found the shore
Mujhe teri mohabbat ka sahaara mil gaya hota
I would have gotten the support of your love

    –FEMALE–
Na tha manzoor kismat ko, na thi marzi bahaaron ki
it was not acceptable to fate, nor was it the desire of spring
    Nahin to is gulistaan mein
    otherwise in this garden
Nahin to is gulistaan mein kami thi kya nazaaron ki
otherwise in this garden where was there a lack of beautiful sights
Meri nazaron ko bhi koi nazaara mil gaya hota
even my eyes would have found a beautiful sight
Agar toofaan nahin aata, kinaara mil gaya hota
If the storm had not come, I would have found the shore

    –MALE–
Mujhe teri mohabbat ka sahaara mil gaya hota
I would have gotten the support of your love
Khushi se apni aankhon ko main ashkon se bheego leta
happily I would have wet my eyes with tears
    Mere badle tu has leti
you could have laughed instead of me
Mere badle tu has leti, tere badle main ro leta
you could have laughed instead of me, I would have cried instead of you
Mujhe ae kaash tera dard saara mil gaya hota
if only I could have gotten all your pain
Agar toofaan nahin aata, kinaara mil gaya hota
If the storm had not come, I would have found the shore

    –FEMALE–
Mujhe teri mohabbat ka sahaara mil gaya hota
I would have gotten the support of your love
Mili hai chaandni jin ko, yeh unki apni kismat hai
those who have received moonlight, it is their own fate
    Mujhe apne muqaddar se
with my own fate I have
Mujhe apne muqaddar se faqat itni shikaayat hai
with my own fate I have just this complaint
Mujhe toota hua koi sitaara mil gaya hota
I could have gotten a broken star
Agar toofaan nahin aata, kinaara mil gaya hota
If the storm had not come, I would have found the shore

    –MALE–
Mujhe teri mohabbat ka sahaara mil gaya hota
I would have gotten the support of your love

    Boo:

It is true that Bollywhat.com provides a lot of translations and I think most of us acknowledge that when we paste their link and tell readers that the translation can be found there. I am not trying to minimize their impact.

The reason I said that Marine is working hard is because if she was able to find the song at bollywhat or any other site then obviously the song was available for others to find too. Yet Marine took the time to find it for some one else. Also, what I said about Marine was in response to some one elses comment about Marine finding so many lyrics or translations.

They are very picky about spelling so I am sure that is what the problem was. When unable to find it as a complete phrase, some times it helps to ask for individual words. Perhaps the word major or saab or nibhana might have picked it up. Who knows. I typed pyar kiya to nibhana but I said find any of the words and it came up. Of course I had the advantage that I was positive I had translated it recently so it had to be there. I just had to keep looking. Not a problem. Thanks for trying to search first.

I had actually replied to this post last week but evidently that was one of those that got pulled into the black hole and disappeared when the forum had a problem and some posts got wiped out.

The original song Aplam Chaplam is from the movie Azad (aazaad) and was sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Usha Mangeshkar back in the 50s. When I used the google search engine to find the song lyrics, I found out that the song has been remixed and sung by Sneha Pant recently. I have not heard the remix version so I don’t know if they used only the opening lines or the entire song lyrics. If you know a site that has this song then I may be able to listen and provide you the lyrics. If you have the mp3 you can upload it at http://megaupload.com/ and then send me the new URL and I will see what I can do.

    Good Luck!

Sorry for the late response. Things have been hectic at home and I have not been able to visit the forum. You are right that there are a few Punjabi words mixed in but essentially the song is in Hindi.

And then this month came is what they are trying to say. However, Sawan is the name of the month in question. It is also the month at least according to Bollywood movies when people are more romantic and seem to be missing their mates more. I don’t know if there really is a magical reason why you would miss your mate more in this month than in others. There is none according to me but in Bollywood movies they always talk about missing your loved one more in the month of Saawan. If I had to speculate I would say this dates back to the times when newly wed brides would return to their parents homes in the month of Saawan. It was traditional for the brother to visit his sister and bring her back to her parents home in Saawan and she would then be home for Raksha Bandhan which is on the Saawan Purnima (full moon) day. Thus creating a separation between the husband and wife so at night they long for each other and at least in movies sing romantic songs portraying how they miss each other. This is the only reason I can come up with for this sudden longing for each other in Saawan. This is what the singer seems to be portraying in this song when she says that on top of every thing else the month of Saawan is here and is lighting this fire. If you are interested you can find more information about Saawan and Raksha Bandhan etc. on my website. Look at the index on the left for Hindu Festivals and then go to Raksha Bandhan. The URL for it is http://madhu90210.tripod.com/index.html

The broken world crippling your hands may be one way of translating it. Since I am not the one who wrote the song I can only guess what the lyricists intent was. However, NIGODE is definitely worthless and since “haath nigode” is repeated they definitely mean worthless hands. Is it the broken world who has rendered your hands worthless or is it the world has broken your hands and made it worthless? Take your pick. With songs the lyrics are not always precise and exact translations don’t always work. The thought they are trying to convey is that she feels helpless due to the separation that the world has caused. In this particular situation and I know this because I have seen the movie, the hero Jackie Shroff was put in jail and that is why the heroine Meenakshi Sheshadri feels that society or the world is responsible for her helplessness.

Sorry the response got so long. Once again I apologize for the delay in responding to your question.

I read the comments above and am wondering what is American about the movie? Certainly this is not a Hollywood type movie and there is no way this movie portrays life in America. What was realistic about this movie? I am not sure that I agree with that statement either. However, I liked the movie myself. I thought the first half was excellent but the second half dragged. Perhaps that was done to give Rani Mukherjee more of a role. There were also inconsistencies in the story. I think the movie would have been more effective if they had taken out some of the parts that were not essential to the story. However, overall the movie was definitely worth watching. I saw Veer-Zara in the theatre and the photography on the big screen was beautiful. I had heard the music as soon as it was released and fell in love with the song Tere Liye Hum Hain Jiye. I like every single song in this movie, some more than others of course. It is amazing that the tunes were used 30 years after the death of the composer Madan Mohan but still sound so fresh. Even the director realized the movie was too long and so he cut out some of the songs even though they were all nice songs. Preity Zinta has worn some gorgous outfits and she looks really nice in this movie. She also acted well. Rani Mukherjee dressed appropriately for her role and acted well. Shahrukh Khan was his usual charming self. I loved watching the chemistry between Amitabh Bachan and Hema Malini. I have seen the movie twice in the theatre and I could watch the movie over as long as I could fast forward some of the second half. If you have not seen it and like musicals then I would definitely recommend seeing it once. If you are into action movies then this movie is not for you.

Actually I am in agreement with Bollylover. I thought the movie was really stupid and unrealistic. However, it had some funny moments. You certainly can not watch this movie and expect things to progress logically because they do not. However, if you want to just watch and laugh at their antics then you may enjoy the movie. Certainly Rani and Abhishek looked good together. Amitabh Bachan is in a c-l-a-s-s by himself. Aishwarya Rai looked fabulous in her guest appearance and I love the song Kajra Re filmed on Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek and Amitabh. Chhup chhup ke and Dhadak Dhadak were also very pleasing. Naach baliye had a good beat for dancing as the title suggests.

I thought ‘Black’ was a good movie and well made. Some thing new for Bollywood audiences. While Rani Mukherjee and Amitabh Bachan were both good, I was most impressed with the little girl who played the child Michelle. Of course the story is not original since it is loosely based on the Miracle Worker which again is based on the true life story of Helen Keller. However, at least this time they came up with a decent adaptation of another movie. Overall I would say that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has made a successful movie. If you are looking for a light comedy or romance, this movie is not for you. If you want to watch a quality movie even if it makes your eyes fill up with tears then you should like the movie. Keep a box of Kleenex handy as you watch the movie ‘Black’.
