That was a foul indeed! Thanks purnima.

you say “just because humans created a rule doesnt mean its entirely true. thats
when we, as individuals should use the brain that GOD has given us and
start to think on our own, instead of accepting everything that was
taught to us blindly.”
Nothing new in your post just assertions and more assertions — without substantiating any of them.
What is the “super human” source of the above information — that GOD has given us brain? Who follows blindly?
A believer girl claimed that the “GOD” in her heart told her to marry her father. The poor father, though a believer himself, was at wits' end as were the scholars of that religion at this revelation! Shouldn't the girl marry her father because her “GOD” commanded her to?

Yes, I know the wind and never claimed to “see” it. Where did I say to establish existance by seeing?
You have not answered the question in my post!
Many existents are not sensed through like most gases, forms of energy and particles. But, their existance is verifiable, controllable and measurable — that includes the wind as well!
The link in the post takes one to the fantasy world of faiths which presumes GOD before establishing GOD as an existent! Are you willing to discuss the “science in Quran” — or for that matter any religious text?
There is another deception in the contention of the msgs — and that is to use knowledge to “prove” a presumption! That's a funny argument. Believe because existance can't be proved!
To SELF: purnima posted this song a while ago! May be there are too many antaaksharees going on at the same time! Participants are going in circles — kinda vicious!

Either one believes or one knows — both assertions can't be valid and incidental at the same time without cancelling out each other [pl give an example of such an incidence, if it exists].
For example, all existents can be described and the description verified. While belief has no limitation, the knowledge has its limitations. One may believe 2 + 2 make 5 or whatever one likes to believe; but, it is the knowledge of arithmatics that tells 2+2 make a 4!
“God, love, people…” in the above post are a concept, a feeling and humans, respectively.
A concept has to be established and also be verifiable by the system of knowledge to be accepted as an existent. Love as a feeling and people as humans [homo sapiens] are existent as they are verifiable — the “God” isn't. “God” as concept has as many versions as the number of believers in the “God”. Beliefs are endemic knowledge is universal.
Can lack of evidence of existance be taken as a valid reason for believing in the existance of the “thing” being believed to exist?

Belief shows lack of knowledge!
One believes what one doesn't know.
But, once, one knows one doesn't believe.
God can't exist
as
there is no reason to
for the God to exist
God is a failed concept!

You're right about that. The nazm denounces the bhautik-vaad of the west. Personally, I favor bhautikvaad.
There are a few things about Iqbal that might be of interest to you and other members of this forum.
1. Iqbal was a nationalist that's when he wrote some of the masterpieces of his work like tarana-e-Hind and other poems. Three couplets from his nazm [perhaps called “Bharati”] are produced below which I like most.
2. Iqbal turned a pan-Islamist and modified Tarana-e-Hind to read turn it into a song of muslims. E.g. the line “Hindi hein hamwatan hein, Hindostan hamaara” became “Muslim hein hamwatan hein, sara jahan hamaara”.
3. Iqbal wrote in Faarsee too. His articles and poems in Faarsee, about Islam and muslims only, are part of syllabus in Iran even today. Interestingly, he is called Iqbal “Lahuri” in Iran.
4. Iqbal suggested the name Pakistan to the part of British India that went to muslims; and,
5. Before his death, Iqbal rued, “Writing Taran-e-Hind was the worst thing I did in my life” [or words to that effect].

soz = passion]

[rishta-e-ulfat = bond of attachment/affection
Tasbeeh ke daane = jap-maalaa ke daane, the beads of Rosary]
