Keep your relationship with light as such, like keeping a candle near the wind.

The underlying meaning I assume is, do not think that there is always brightness on your side, or that light will always shine on you… it is merely a come and go aspect of life… In simpler words, keep your prespective in check with reality. Note how it's shamma ke paas hawa rakhna, not hawa ke pass shamma. Keep the wind next the candle. Keep reality next to dreams.

Guys, this is a beautiful beautiful beautiful ghazal. I love it. Please take time to listen. And if you'd like a translation, let me know – I'll try my best to get one or do one myself. I simply love the thoughts in this one. I know there aren't many ghazal lovers here, but still – I simply love this ghazal. One of the few songs I listen to before I sleep.
