I'm watching these depressing videos on youtube about the wars in the Middle East, and man is it heartbreaking to see.

Well, anywho- this has been a crappy year- 06. In the past month 3 people I know passed away. And Ninja just told me that her dad's friend's son died today.

May Allah Help Every person in danger or war or in a hard time.

Inna Lillahi Winna Ilaihi Raji'oon- To Allah do we belong and to Him shall we return.

The wars in Palestine and Iraq and the other countries are just heart crushing for sure. Imagine being in their shoes. Not their fault at all, innocent ppl who just want to live like the rest of the world; have that feeling of security and peace. But it seems more than impossible that they will ever get the peace they want so bad. 2006 has been a horrible year especially near the end of it. just horrible. but All praise is due to Allah for anything and everything.

Haylie may All the ppl u know who have passed on rest in peace bi ithnillah. We will all one day pass on as well and May we all be amongst the dwellers of Paradise Insha'Allah. Keep these ppl in ur prayers/duas plz. My father's bestfriend's son passed away today in a car accident. He just got married and is his father's only son. May He Rest in peace. Ameen.

This only proves one thing, that we should never expect tomorrow. Live everyday just as if it were ur last day. Because who in this world guaranteed u tomorrow??!! No one at all. Never think that i will improve myself when i get a lil older..because there might be no tomorrow or perhaps even later. May Allah help us all and increase our eeman. Ameen.

May Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala be with the ppl in Palestine and Iraq and Afghanistan and Soumal and all the other ppl who are in hardship. Ameen Thumma Ameen.

Sweety I couldn't have said it better myself. May god bless them and may they rest in peace. 2006 was a horible year all thgether and let brighten 2007.

But you never do know when you will dye my brothers friend that i knew woke up and right in front of his house while going left te truck hit him and his head got seporated from his body by a glass, so his parents had to see that in the morning. I can't imagin god forbit seng my loved one dead and his head seporated from his body its the most horible thing that can hapened.

So we all do need to live life like it our last day, and love our dear ones like its their last day to.

May god bless all those who are no longer with us and may they all rest in peace.

      Look into my eyes
      Tell me what you see
You don’t see a damn thing
’cause you can’t relate to me
      You’re blinded by our differences
My life makes no sense to you
      I’m the persecuted one
You’re the red, white and blue

Each day you wake in tranquility
No fears to cross your eyes
Each day I wake in gratitude
Thanking God He let me rise
      You worry about your education
And the bills you have to pay
I worry about my vulnerable life
And if I’ll survive another day
Your biggest fear is getting a ticket
      As you cruise your Cadillac
My fear is that the tank that has just left
Will turn around and come back
Yet, do you know the truth of where your money goes?
Do you let your media deceive your mind?
Is this a truth nobody, nobody, nobody knows
Has our world gone all blind?
Do you know the truth of where your money goes?
Do you let your media deceive your mind?
Is this a truth nobody, nobody, nobody knows?
      Someone tell me…
      Ooohh, let’s not cry tonight
I promise you one day it’s through
Ohh my brothers, Ohh my sisters
Ooohh, shine a light for every soul that ain’t with us no more
Ohh my brothers, Ohh my sisters
See I’ve known terror for quite some time
      57 years so cruel
Terror breathes the air I breathe
It’s the checkpoint on my way to school
Terror is the robbery of my land
And the torture of my mother
The imprisonment of my innocent father
The bullet in my baby brother
      The bulldozers and the tanks
      The gases and the guns
The bombs that fall outside my door
      All due to your funds
You blame me for defending myself
Against the ways of my enemies
I’m terrorized in my own land
      But am I the terrorist?

Yemeni, governments decide to start a war, not the people of a country. In every war, innocent people die, and that's horrible. But it's all thanks to the leaders of countries, and not to all the millions of people who live in that country.

yes AM RANI I know that. I know that both sides invovled in the war are victims. But the ppl in general..what do they say. They say that Arabs are terrorists just because some person came and bombed a building.. Look who's terrorising Palestine and Iraq. for years now…I love these lyrics because its so true. look at how we're living and how the Palestinians are living. or even the ppl in Iraq. Absolutely heart crushing. “All Due to your funds”– does not mean that everyone in this country or anywhere support the war Many ppl do tho..Starbucks, Coke and many other companies send half of their money to help support the war.

I remember when you were telling me about this. Right Hug

Hayati, all those videos are so depressing, I hate watching them. I remember ever since I was a little girl I used to hate watching movies about war. I thought it was all BS and it is. But if we don't watch them, we won't know the reality of how cruel people can be.

I went to Afghanistan in the summer of 2004 and I remember when I saw the American troops there, it really pissed me off. I started arguing with everyone in the car. I said(not exactly these words, but something like that), “What the heck are they doing here? Somebody tell them to get lost, can I go tell them?” Of course no one gave me the permission and someone(I can't remember who) said that they are helping the people in Afghanistan. I said, “That's a whole bunch of BS! They don't want to help us, and anywayz, even if they do want to, we don't need their help. They can get lost, we can help ourselves. They can take their ignorant butts back to America and stay there.” lol. It was funny because everyone got mad at me for talking like that. Someone also told me that we can't do anything about it because there is a war going on here, and they can stay here if they want to.” But that's not fair at all. *sigh* I hate this stuff. Sad

You know what I hate the most? When parents say, “My son/daughter is in Afghanistan(Iraq or any other country) fighting the war.” Then they get all emotional and proud about it. What about the innocent people in those countries who have no choice but to fight the war? Your son or daughter had the choice, they didn't have to do it. And now that they are doing it, you can just shut up about it with all your tears and crap because they had a choice. No one told them to go and fight. I might be over-reacting, but whatever.

eugh! I remember when we were going to Afghanistan and Pakistan I told all my friends that I was going and everyone said, “Aren't you scared? Why are you gonna go there?” Why the fudge should I be scared? And I truly wasn't scared at all. It's my country, I'm going there to visit my family, why should I be scared? It really pissed me off.

When we were in Kabul you could hear the planes going over the roof of your house because they were so close to the ground. I got so scared then, not for my life, but for the people there. It was so sad that they had to go through all this…and they still have to go through it…

My sweet Rani Afghani, I understand where you are coming from when talking about Americans in Afghanistan. First they burned the place down, and now they are “helping”. I agree with that. But, on the other hand… if Americans are so bad, why do you live there than? No offense, just wondering..

But please don’t forget there are indeed people who are trying to help the people in Afghanistan. What about the Dutch? Wink

You say the people there don’t need help.. Well, no offense, but I think they do. Afghanistan has seen so much war, what’s wrong with accapting some help (honest help, like from the european troops) to make things better in the end? Maybe they just NEED a little help to work things out, not only with the world, but also with eachother.

An Afghan guy once said to me (and that was SO true): the people in Afghanistan are like dogs. If there is an enemy, they will fight it together. If the enemy leaves, they will fight eachother. And again, that was an AFGHAN guy, it’s not something it came to MY mind Wink Maybe, if the people there get some help, they might “calm down” a bit…

And what about the people who came to Afghanistan and Iraq from all over the world (not because they wanted to, but because they HAD to) to try to help the people there, and who get shot just like that, because the locals shoot on everybody who is white? Are you white? Than you must be American,

True, but what do the Arabs say about us? We pay no attention to God and religion, all woman are who.res, we don’t do anything but drinking alcohol, using drugs and having se.x.. Yes it is true, there are good and bad people, but what the Arabs say about you doesn't lead to a stereotype does it? Not from the Arab's perspective, but from the perspective from other non-arab countries and all. I never think that way myself because again, Islam prohibits to think that way. What I'm saying is that what the arabs say about you doesn't have much of an impact you know? While what they say about Arabs led everyone into thinking that all Muslims/Arabs are terrorists. And The bombing of the building, who in the world said it was right? Did i say it was right? I don't think I said or even implied so. Just because someone who called himself 'muslim' or w/e goes and does what he did, doesn't mean that everyone is like him does it. Oh well, the stereotypes go on and on. As you said, there are the bad and there are the good. Simply, how the world is.

Look who's terrorising Palestine and Iraq. for years now…I love these lyrics because its so true. look at how we're living and how the Palestinians are living. or even the ppl in Iraq. You never implied that bombing buildings are right, I know you don't, and I didn't felt that way. But I do know there are certain people who think it's right.

The way the Arabs thinks about us, gives them the right to kill us, swear on us, rape us… They THINK! We are hooke.rs already, so we want to be raped. We are not muslim, so they have the right to “defend” themselves by beating, kicking, shooting, bombing and whatever, because the only thing we want is to end Islam. We don't respect them, so they can swear, and call us whatever they like… NOTE: I'm only talking about the real bad people..

And than the circle is round again. The Arabs feel they need do defend there religion, and we think they are terrorsist… And that's how the bad influence the image of the good. And as you said, that's the way the world is like. Unfortunately Sad

I must admit, that there are many confused Muslims ji. Many are so confuzzledajhfdskjg that the think bombing and killing themselves along with non-Muslims is the right thing to do. Therefore, I don't blame you for thinking that way. But again, these are misguided followers, that don't know a darn thing theyre doing. And Yaar, the stereotypes go on and on. I'm an arab, and I don't think that every non-muslim/non-arab woman is (yeah what you said Wink). Everyone in this world has morals they follow. Have you encountered anything yaara which makes you say this?

Yeah, the misconceptions go on and on ji. see, you just said “The Arabs” meaning all the arabs. Thats a stereotype as well. Again, just because some arabs/Muslims are misguided doesnt mean the rest are. And Muslims are not only arab. There is no Nationalism in Islam. On the other hand, You find arab Christians and so forth. but yes, thats how the world is..

My dear Am ji. I do not think Americans are bad, I just don't like Bush. When I don't like someone, I don't like the individual. For example, If I don't like a few Americans, then I don't like them only, I do not go around assuming things about all Americans. And, even if I didn't like all Americans (Allah forbid. because I have never met every American to hate them all, I would have to meet them all to hate them all, na?), then that doesn't mean I will also hate America. In fact, I love America. I consider myself American as well. I have lived here longer than I have lived in any other country, and I love it. Hating America doens't mean I'll hate Americans. And hating Americans, doens't mean I'll hate America.

But…let me give you an example…suppose I don't know how to do a math problem, and I ask the person sitting next to me to help me…but she starts doing the whole thing for me! I have met bad Afghans, and I have met good Afghans (in fact, I am a good Afghan. Big Smile And damn proud too.), but I have also met good humans, and I have met bad humans. Knowing one human is a complete jerk won't mean that every human is a complete jerk.

When will people stop doing this? All Arabs are terrorists. All Muslims are terrorists. All Muslim women are oppressed. All Americans are Idiots. All Afghans are dogs. All Pakistanis are (what do they say about Pakistanis? I forgot. lol) All Indians smell like curry. The list goes on and on and on. I don't know when they will stop. Why include the whole damn population? Why? I wish I could go into people's brains and understand why they do this…It really makes me angry.

That's true Rani, You find the good people and the bad people. And about the stereotypes and the misconceptions, I don't think that will ever end. I hate it when people generalize like that. Don't they have any common sense. It's just impossible for everyone to be alike. To think alike and do the same thing. common sense ppl!!

This girl was telling me that “oh you see, Muslims don't do anything for the society, but Christians are the ones who do a lot for their society.” wtheck, How can the Muslims do anything if they're getting killed every single day? They're terrorized in their own country. They don't have the chance to make a change. It's all just so….errrr!

As for Afghanistan, I agree with Rani, there is no “Honest” help nowadays. Not only when it comes to wars and all but also in our daily lives. My father always tells me that “No one does anything expecting nothing in return these days.” And I have to say, that you find some good ppl who do of course. But they're not very common. But then again, we don't know, because Allah is the only One who knows what's in people's intentions right?

Anything we all discuss here shouldn't be taken personally because we're just sharing thoughts and beliefs and intend no offence at all.. Smile

rani… what a post. I loved it! Have so much to say, but might do so later… as for now, I just wanted to say something regarding what I have quoted…

There is NO RULE, NONE WHATSOEVER, that people have to defend what is theirs.

And in fact, those who diss what is theirs may actually be right. I love the country I am in now (Wink), yet I can find so many faults with it… and sometimes, that which is NOT yours, you may find to be much 'better' than that which IS yours…

Jeesh. I don't think I am making sense. I am not in the right frame of mind to reply to this… sorry hun, will be back later… Smile

I don't mind honest help at all. But who gives “honest help” nowadays? I don't know about the Dutch, if they are giving honest help, then great. But…let me give you an example…suppose I don't know how to do a math problem, and I ask the person sitting next to me to help me…but she starts doing the whole thing for me! Instead of explaining it to me, she takes over…That is what I don't like. The people are not helping the people in Afghanistan, they are taking over.

Objection!! Wink They Dutch ARE helping (and not only the Dutch, I’m sure there will be more troops who are), they are not taking over. The Dutch troops have been in Afghanistan for several years now, and they are actually teaching the Afghan people to do things themselves.. If not, how come that in three years, only one (ONE) Dutch soldier has died in Afghanistan? Because they are HELPING! They are not fighting, or telling people what to do. They are talking to the people, take the time to get used to eachother. If we were not there to help, to give some honest help, than why would be have taken the time to talk to the people and to get used to the country, and let the Afghans get used to us? Our troops don’t mean to take over Afghanistan, or to tell the people what to do. The are doing the best the can to build the country, so that the Afghans can help themselves when the ISAF is gone…

Ur lovelyness, I never said there was a rule. It's just that I always thought someone would defend what is theirs. Plus, I said thought, as in past tense, looking at Am ji's friend, I don't think like that anymore. However, I will still defend what is mine..that's just the way I am, I can't help it…nor do I want to help it, I'm happy to love my religion and country enough to defend it. Smile

You're right, that's why I told Am ji's friend that he is seeking faults in his own country, I meant to tell him that he should look for the good stuff. I never said Afghanistan is a perfect country, I see the flaws in it, but I don't go around telling everyone it's faluts when I have never done anything to help the country in any way.

My sweety Rani, to be honest (and you’ve heared this from me before) I have only met Afghans who do. The ones I’ve met never trust eachother, they always try to get better from the need of others, they always try to stop people from being happy or succefull, just because they are SO jealous, they are nice when you are with them (aaaaawwwwww jaan, how is your mother/father/sister/brother/grandma/grandpa/husband/wife/children…. Not that they listen to the answer, it always seems to me they are trying to mention more familymembers than the person they are talking to. I once asked one of my ex bf’s friend how his socks were, and he did not even noticed, he just kept going: mother, father, sister, friends, blablablabla) but as soon as you leave the room, they start chatting about you… And please note, I am talking now about the ones i actually MET! That’s why I understood where this guy was coming from, and why I think it’s true what he said. Just because you have met crappy Afghans, does that give you the right to call them all dogs? It really sux that you have only met crappy Afghans. But the world is full of good and nice and sincere Afghans. You just have to meet them. You have to meet them all to judge them all. And about your Afghan friend who told you that all Afghans are dogs, what about him? Do you think he is a dog? If you do, then you better not trust a dog. I'm an Afghan, I know you haven't met me in person, but you can tell what kind of personality I have. Can you not? What do you think about me? What do you think about Rani Afghani?

What If I tell you that every dutch that I have ever met is crappy and fake and jealous and they backbite, and I call them all dogs, how would you feel? Would you not say that I have to meet them all to judge them all?

I only have good thoughts about you! You should know by now that I do not hate all Aghans, because I only met the bad ones. If I did, would I spend so much time around here, talking with/to you, replying to your post? If I thought you were bad, I would have “left” you long ago, as soon as I found out you are Afghan. If I thought you were bad, should I have called you Rani Afghani? I would have said Shetani Afghani instead Wink I can indeed tell (a bit) what kind of personality you have, and I like you. So please please never think I don't like you because I've only met crazy Afghans. I once refused to go out with a guy because he was Afghan (just after my ex bf married another girl), and it seemed rigth at that time. Afterwards, I realised I might have judged to early, and I should have given the guy a change. I made that mistake once, and I'm very carefull not to make it again.

Ow, I forgot to reply to your last sentence. No, I would not like it when you hated all the Dutch because of a few crazy ones you met. And of course I would try to defend myself and my people. But on the other hand would try to understand where you are coming from, and not to blame you for hating all of us us because of the bad ones. I would hope you would realise on day you should (have) give(n) the others a chance….

Like I said, if the dutch are honestly, honestly helping Afghanistan, then great. I cannot say that they are not, because I don't know if they are or if they aren't.

But Am ji, how do you know they are in Afhanistan, trying to help them? How do you really know? Have you been to Afghanistan and seen them with your own eyes? Because, let me tell you, the media can be really decieving…they show you one thing on television, when another thing is happening in real life.

No, I have not been in Afghanistan to see the situation with my own eyes, that's true. But I spoke to some Dutch soldiers who have (Shakz has a friend who has been there, and I know some soldiers myself. My dad used to be in the army Smile). And I also spoke to Afghans who have been in Afghanistan lately. And I hear what the mother of my ex bf (she lives in Afghanistan) says. And I know the meda are not always objective, and that's why I try to talk to as much people as possible… And I guess my ex mother-in-law is a very honest woman, what would she winn if she lied to me about the situation in fghanistan.

But, how come you don't know? Don't you talk to your family over there? Can't they tell you about who does what, helping or not? You can trust them, I assume?

And let me tell you again, if the dutch are really honestly helping the Afghans, then great. It's just that I don't know if they really are. I'll agree with you the day I see with my own eyes that they really are giving the Afghans genuine help, or when someone tells me that they are, someone I can have 100% trust in their answer. You are dutch yourself, so I cannot trust you 100%, you just might be defending your country, and I'm glad that you are. I'm just telling you the truth, I can't just go with your answer.

      River of Tears

Down by the river of tears
      she the mother kneeled
and grasped the dirt between her hands
Then planted a flag of peace
      Her heart wrenched with fear
      when remembering her indelible dreams

      She the mother grasped
      Frantically her last child

      …Rocks… gunfire…bloodshed
      Tombs filled with children…

She looked up to the sky
and wished to be with her children

      …Then remembering her last child
      Gazed desperately into the Horizon
      and shouted a piercing sentence

      Stop killing our children
      stop killing our children
