      A. This is the song section so you are posting your message in the wrong part of the forum.

      B. You did not provide enough information for us to truly know what you are looking for and to give you an accurate answer. Is Jhangariya really the word you are looking for? It always helps if you provide a complete sentence because then it is easier to determine what the correct word is and then what the appropriate answer would be.

I do not know of the word Jhangariyaa.

However if you are looking at Jhangri then it could be a type of gram found. The raw green chanaa is called Jhangri Boot (boot is a local word used for chanaa in Bihar).

I suspect that you are thinking of Jhaanjhariyaa such as in the song. If yes, then jhanjhariyaa is an anklet worn by women, mostly in villages. The Jhaanjhariyaa is thicker and more bulky than a paayal which is a more delicate version of the anklet. The jhaanjhariyaa has bells and makes a jangling sound as the woman walks.

There is a famous Jhanjhariyaa song filmed on Karishma Kapoor in the movie Krishna. There is also an Anand Raj Anand composition called Jhanjhariyaa.

      Madhu Smile [:)]
