      Lyrics : SURAJ SANIM
      Music : RAJESH ROSHAN

      Aaina mujhse meri pehli si soorat maangay
      Mere apne mere honay ki nishaani maangay

      Mein bhatakta hi raha, dard ke veeranay mai
      Waqt likhta raha chehre pe har pal ka hisaab
      Meri shohrat meri deewangi ki nazar hui
      Peegayi maye ki botal mere geeton ki kitaab
      Aaj lauta hoon toh hasne ki ada bhool gaya
      Ye shaher bhoola mujhe, mein bhi isay bhool gaya
      Mere apne mere honay ki nishaani maangay
      Aaina mujhse meri pehli si soorat maangay

      Mera funn phir mujhe bazaar mein le aaya hai
      Ye wo jah hai jahan mehr-o-wafa biktay hian
      Baap biktay hain, aur lakhte-e-jigar biktay hain
      Kok bikti hai, dil biktay hain, sarr biktay hain
      Is badalti hui duniya ka khuda koi nahi
      Sastay daamon har roz khuda biktay hain
      Mere apne mere honay ki nishaani maangay
      Aaina mujhse meri pehli si soorat maangay

      Har khareedar ko bazaar mein bikta paaya
      Hum kya paayenge kisi ne yahan kya paaya
      Mere ehsaas mere phool kahin aur chalen
      Bol pooja meri bachhi kahin aur chalen
      Aur chalen …… Aur chalen …..

      Aaina mujhse meri pehli si soorat maangay
      The mirror ask of me my first face {I'm guessing when he was young. Or before he strayed, back when he was a better person. In both cases, the face of his innocence.}
      Mere apne mere honay ki nishaani maangay
      My own {family/friends} ask of me a sign{proof} of my existence.

      Mein bhatakta hi raha, dard ke veeranay mai
      I continued to stray in the wilderness of pain
      Waqt likhta raha chehre pe har pal ka hisaab
      Time continued to write on my face, an account of every moment
      Meri shohrat meri deewangi ki nazar hui
      My fame became a sight of my madness
      Peegayi maye ki botal mere geeton ki kitaab
      The book of my songs drank the bottle of maye {I don't know the meaning of maye :/}
      Aaj lauta hoon toh hasne ki ada bhool gaya
      Now that I have returned today, I have forgotten the style of laughing {how to laugh}
      Ye shaher bhoola mujhe, mein bhi isay bhool gaya
      This city forgot me, I have forgotten it as well
      Mere apne mere honay ki nishaani maangay
      My own {family/friends} ask of me a sign of my existence
      Aaina mujhse meri pehli si soorat maangay
      The mirror asks of me my first face

      Mera funn phir mujhe bazaar mein le aaya hai
      My funn {?} has once again brought me to the bazaar {market}
      Ye wo jah hai jahan mehr-o-wafa biktay hian
      This is the place where faithfulness is sold {I'm not sure about this line, I've never heard this song before, so it's hard to translate just from the words. :/}
      Baap biktay hain, aur lakhte-e-jigar biktay hain
      Fathers are sold, and pieces of liver {you would call someone very close to you a lakht-e-jigar – kind of like 'apple of my eye'} are sold
      Kok bikti hai, dil biktay hain, sarr biktay hain
      Wombs are sold, hearts are sold, heads/skulls are sold
      Is badalti hui duniya ka khuda koi nahi
      Sastay daamon har roz khuda biktay hain
      Mere apne mere honay ki nishaani maangay
      My own {family/friends} ask of me a sign of my existence
      Aaina mujhse meri pehli si soorat maangay
      The mirror asks of me my first face

      Har khareedar ko bazaar mein bikta paaya
      I found ever consumer being sold in the market
      Hum kya paayenge kisi ne yahan kya paaya
      What will I find/gain, for who has ever gained/found anything here?
      Mere ehsaas mere phool kahin aur chalen
      My emotions, my flowers {maybe bhool=mistakes?} go elsewhere
      Bol pooja meri bachhi kahin aur chalen
      My words, my worship, my daughter goes elsewhere
      Aur chalen …… Aur chalen …..
      goes elsewhere

      Again, I'm sorry about the words I don't know the meaning of. Also, it was hard to translate this because it was a very strange song, and I have never heard it before, so it became even harder to understand what the lyricist was trying to say… Hope someone else can fill in the gaps for you. 🙂
