I grew up watching Amitabh Bachchan movies and this was one of my favorites. My Hindi was very limited, but I always thought I got most of it untill I saw Naseeb with subtitles and realised I hadn't understood even a half of the movie! This made me think I probably have no idea what one of my favorite songs of all time says! I always thought the lines
“Humko tumse ho gaya hai pyaar kya kare, bolo to jiye bolo to mar jaaye”
meant; Humko tumse – [You & I] , pyaar- [ love, to love], kya kare- [ what can we do, what can be done]
So I would glue it together as: I am in love with you and that can't be helped
“Bolo to jiye bolo to mar jaaye”
I thought meant: Tell me, you tell me otherwise I'll die
Gosh, I try but my hindi is so bad…I probably made a complete mess of this song and a fool of myself in the process. Can anybody help me out by translating this song? Thanks!
